About the CreatorWelcome, one and
all, to my personal section of this Web site. Here you can find tidbits of
information about me and my Path, as well as how you can contact me for any
and all reasons.
I’ll start first with my name: Hello, my name is Shayna. Of course, I
will not be giving out my last name on the internet for all to see, so you
can just call me Shayna. I also go by Pouncing Panther and Maiden Mooncat
online, so you may have heard of me with those names instead, but I usually
prefer and go by Shayna. I’m 15 years old at the moment and have been Pagan since
July, 2006. I realized that I was Wiccan, though, in Spring/Summer 2007. I
was raised Christian, but as I grew older, I realized it wasn’t the religion
for me. I have nothing against it, but I didn’t believe what I was asked to
believe. After some time, I found Paganism, then Wicca. I’m very glad to
have finally found the Path for me and my life feels a little more complete
this way. Like many Pagans have said, finding the right religion is like
finding your true home.
Some of you may be asking yourself, "Well, you’re proudly Wiccan online
and all, but what about in real life?" The truth is I didn’t tell anyone
about my religion switch until a few months after it happened. I wasn’t sure
at first if it was what I was looking for, but the more I read, the more I
felt assured this was it. Then along came a different issue: should I come
out of the Broom-closet? To find out more about this story and things
relating to the "Broom-closet," click the link titled "In the Broom-closet"
on the left. I’ll say this, though: in the end, I did come out, however
slowly I did it. I told my friends, then my mother, and then I finally got
up the courage to wear a pentacle at school and freely talk about the
religion in a class where it was brought up. I’m proudly Wiccan in real
life, too, although I’ll admit to this: it’s much easier on the Web. ;)
